The Q&A's continue with our Director Nana. Some of the more unbelievable answers below!

In another life, before Uncover Commerce, I tried so many different jobs before discovering Design & Computer Science. I worked in Retail, Football ( I was spectacularly average), Nightclubs, Restaurants, Mortgage finance, door to door sales, that’s just some. In 2010 I founded a tech start-up app focused on finding Football players new clubs at a higher level. Through the process of running a Startup, I learned a lot about myself through that I wanted to create using technology. I knew then that tech was where I was supposed to be.

What’s your favourite thing about what you do?

The combination of Design, Code, and being Nosy. I love speaking with people about their passions and what motivates them. It is really interesting work and a lot of fun adopting different perspectives to get a real understanding of people's goals then exploring creative ideas to help people succeed.

What do you do in your free time?

I like to go running, play football, video games, produce music.

What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?

A walk with my dog usually puts things in perspective. I like to think I’m a pretty mellow person so I don’t often get rattled by stressful things when they crop up. Something I learned from a wise old owl is asking myself ‘Will this matter in 10 days? 10 months? 10 Years.’ There are not many things that matter on those timelines.

What is the most unbelievable thing that’s ever happened to you?

I was invited to meet the President of Ghana, John Mahama. That was pretty surreal. At meet and greet after the speeches. I wasn’t quite sure how you speak to a head of state. Being a friendly guy I went to put my arm around big John whilst we got our photo taken and the Secret Service was not having any of it. A mountain of a man. He must have been 6’8, with a yellow flower on his suit jacket, sunglasses and an earpiece on came out of nowhere and swiftly removed my arm from the President. Don’t get too cosy with a leader of a country… lesson learned.

What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?

Other than try to hug a president. I once booked a tattoo and the artist cancelled last minute so I went and got an impulsive tattoo at a low budget grimey studio down an alley. I got the word ‘Be’ permanently inked into the skin on my wrist. Wasn’t particularly fancy or anything, pretty sure it was in Arial bold, sans-serif. Apart from being really cringe-worthy. it just didn’t look very good, was a scabby disaster. Never again.

Which actor would play you in a movie about your life?

Idris Elba

What’s one song you have completely memorised?

Jimi Hendrix - all along the watchtower / Deadmau5 - I remember / Wu tang clan - C.R.E.A.M

What’s the first concert you ever went to?

Groove Armada at the Barrowlands
